2012 Olympics Bid
Wired's great comparison of the 5 finalists host cities for the 2012 Olympics is now available online.All the bids (Moscow, Paris, London, New York, and Madrid) have interesting elements, including the beach volleyball court underneath the Eiffel tower and the motorized opening roof on Madrid's proposed aquatic center. However, the most drastically unique bid in my opinion came from Moscow - who plans to dispose of trains, buses, and cars for shuttling athletes to events in favor of ferries and hovercrafts on the Moscow River.
