The Future is Now
This past weekend was WIRED's Nextfest 2005 in Chicago, a showcase of the latest innovations and technological developments of the future.I agree with Josh, the most comprehensive coverage around seems to be at Quente Cafe - where they have photos and write ups about all of this year's highlights.
Some innovations were new, while others had hit the blogsphere before. It seems the main themes were energy efficient transportation and interactive gaming/display technology.
The coolest of the cool in my opinion are the 3-d Display cube, the moon-buggy looking Segway Centaur, and the extremely practical Smartpaper.
Optical camouflage was just one of the technologies on display.
